Red cherry

The original Neocaridina and the one you will find free most often. Red is graded by how much of the shrimp is covered: cherry has patchy red and clear legs, sakura is a solid body with clear legs, fire red is solid with red legs, and painted fire red is opaque everywhere. A tank of any red line throws lower grades every generation, and those are the ones breeders give away.

Aquarium shops charge $5 to $8 for the same shrimp.
